Booze, Broads, and Blackjack is Filming!

Not wanting to take a chance on sleeping with the fishes, Hectic Films is wide awake and underway on Booze, Broads, and Blackjack

A mobster film that has been finely tuned and scripted by the author himself, Carl Nicita.

The sets are being built, the cement shoes poured, and the actors have gathered to begin filming on this very ambitious project.

Not wanting to wait around for the perfect time and opportunity, Hectic Films is doing what they do best. Putting their feet to the ground, their eye to the camera, and making Blockbuster style films on budgets that would terrify even the most Indie of filmmakers.

Speaking of which, I know a guy who knows a guy who can get you in the credits and some other amazing perks if the price is right. Whattaya say?

Head over to Indiegogo to check out the campaign that is up now.

Normally you gotta be a Made Man to get a deal this good, but we trust you. We can trust you, right?

I just got some more insider news for you as well. Come here. A little closer. Don't worry about the plastic on the carpet, I'm having the place painted soon.

Joe Raffa will be starring as 'Jack King', Erica Rey will be 'Misty Rebel' and Sarah French will play 'Alicia Gonzalvo'.They will be joining Felissa Rose Esposito Miller who appears as 'Savannah Holly' and Dana (DT) Carney who will portray Detective Tom Maselli.

Erica Rey Interview (2016)

Let us collectively thank Jesse Najera and Sara Carey for setting out into the forest with butterfly nets and questions as they tracked and humanely detained the faerie like beauty Erica Rey for some Hectic Films style questioning! Also, let us also be grateful they didn't pull any wings off during their interrogation.

Erica Rey is a beautiful and talented model and actress. What was your first experience in front of the camera?

My very first experience in front of the camera was in church when I was about 3 or 4, I played Marry in the Christmas nativity scene. I have it on VHS somewhere.

How did you get involved with working at Character Masters? What characters do you play?

I'm the B team for character masters who are based out of Los Angeles, CA, but have just recently started my own company here in town called Bakersfield Fairytale Friends. Our slogan is "It's never too late to invite your BFF" Right now I have Elsa, Ariel, Tinkerbell, Belle and Snow White, but I plan on adding more starting with Rapunzel, as soon as possible.

You have worked with Hectic Films on other projects, including the fan film "Camp Crystal Lake". Can you tell us what that experience was like and what other movies you've made with Hectic Films?

"Camp Crystal Lake" was a long process. It was cold. It was bloody. But it was amazing. DT was the best Jason ever. And Jessica did her best for her first time on screen. I've been in a few films with the Hectic Films team. I started with "Tear Her", had a small part in "As The Man Drives", "Camp Crystal Lake", and then my best work, in my opinion, in "A Familiar Spirit", and finally but certainly not lastly, I have a small part in "Machine Gun Baby", along with my boyfriend, Christopher Puckett.

You play in Hectic Films upcoming project "Machine Gun Baby". What can you tell us about your character and her place of employment?

"Machine Gun Baby" was so much freaking fun! Best time I've ever had on set! I play a, not so very bright, secretary, at an abortion clinic. Classy, I know. Haha. But I can't give too much away just yet.

You create a lot of your own modeling designs and often do your own hair and makeup. Any plans to get behind the camera more in regards to film making?

I actually started out behind the camera, but no one would pose the way I wanted so I switch spots to create my art. My dad is the one who instilled a passion in me for the behind the scenes. He himself wanted to become a director as a kid and now creates amazing sculptures in his spare time. So you can see where I get most of my creativity from. I had a chance to run the boom mic on set of MGB and it was a blast! I would love an opportunity to be behind the camera more often.

Finish this line: If you were not the strikingly beautiful model/actress Erica Rey; you would be Erica Rey, the strikingly beautiful...?

If I wasn't a model/actress, if I had the opportunity to be anything I wanted, no money to account for, I would want to be a motivational speaker, to encourage young women. I would love to go to schools and have seminars, and be a voice of reason and redirection for the lost. ...or own a pit bull paradise owner, where I find happy homes all the pit bulls ever. Then end.

You have a great presence on social media sites like SnapChat and, almost, 2,000 followers on Facebook. Where can fans of Erica Rey go to follow you and see what your up to next?

If anyone is interested in seeing my silly and sometimes boring shenanigans, you can find me on SnapChat at mscaptnmorgan. I have a Facebook page just called Erica Rey that has all my modeling stuff. I have both a modeling Instagram and a personal Instagram. @modelingbyericarey and @the_erica_rey.

D.T. Carney Interview (2016)

Tracking down the ever elusive and always on the go Dana (D.T.) Carney is no easy feat, but Jesse Najera managed to do just that. Hectic Films is proud and honored to offer that interview to the masses. We truly love this man!

D.T. Carney was born in Boston, MA in 1965. A New Englander through and through, D.T. is known for his sharp wit as well as his huge presence in life and on the screen. D.T. is the father of four and lives in the Fresno, CA area with his wife Georgia. With many experiences in life, growing up in Boston, being a champion boxer, hockey player, and accomplished musician, D.T.’s vast list of talents lend themselves well to his many Acting ventures.

How did Dana Carney discover his interest in film acting?

I was a kid in Boston and was fortunate enough to go to the movies and get into any of them, rated R or not. I saw Jaws, Night of the Living Dead, The Omega Man, etc. I remember my dad taking me to Halloween and that movie made me want to get into acting. I liked the idea of playing a monster or the like.

You have the ability to utilize a very distinct American accent and personality in the performance of some of the characters you've played. Where were you raised and how has your upbringing influenced your performances?

Boston and the east coast in general, have a ton to do with how you act. I never liked taking shit from anyone. Who does? So you got to have an attitude that lets others know it. I wouldn't change growing up over there for anything. We grew up pretty poor. You learn to adapt to it and be thankful for things.

You have a long list of acting film credits with some notable, fellow, actors. Can you talk about the first film that you were in and what that experience was like?

The first film I did was playing a killer scarecrow in an indie film called Nightwalkers. It was directed by a friend of mine Steve Haack. It was a great experience because Scream Queen Brinke Stevens was also in it. She is the kindest person you could ever meet. We've been friends for over ten years now. I have had the pleasure of working with some awesome people like Felissa Rose, Deron Miller, Lynn Lowry, Reggie Bannister, Vernon Wells, and Joe Estevez. I just worked with Brinke again in Hectic Films’ Machine Gun Baby. I also worked with amazing talents Jin N Tonic & George the Giant in that same film.

You have worked on a number of Hectic Films Productions projects, playing a variety of roles in a variety of film genres. Can you tell us a little about working with the Hectic Films cast and crew, as well as some of the Hectic Films projects you have been involved in?

I LOVE HECTIC! Plain and Simple. Rachel & Rickey Bird have always treated me so kindly. I am a little rough around the edges and they both manage to look the other way for me. They have given me nothing but awesome roles in their films. Rachel and Rickey have put me up in a helicopter shooting at a speeding car. They made me the leader of a homeless camp, a drunken detective, a kid eating zombie. How can you go wrong? I love the people they have surrounded themselves with. They use the same people on crew, f/x, etc. over and over. We have become a tight family. I love being on the set with all of them.

In the new Hectic Films project; Machine Gun Baby, you play a character in the "medical field". Can you tell us a little bit about your role and how you prepared for that character?

It’s an awesome role for me, as I get to be a little comedic. I play Dr. Spurlock, an abortion doctor. His only care in the world is money and getting more of it. He is quite a character as he is a drinking, whoring, golfing, ego maniac. I will tell you this, MACHINE GUN BABY will open your eyes one way or the other. I've never worked on anything like it before. I prepared for this character by actually watching Dabney Coleman's portrayal of Doctor Prang in Young Doctors in Love. This film is going to upset the apple cart no matter what your views on abortion are. I got to work with such a fun talented cast on this, from Brinke Stevens to Jared Rice, George the Giant, and a trooper of an actress Jin N Tonic.

Where can fans go to follow and learn about future projects from DT Carney?
It's none of their damn business. I'll let them know. GOD BLESS...

Did I mention that we love this man? Let me show you just how much...

George The Giant Interview (2016)

All of us at Hectic Films thought it would be fun to send Jesse Najera out on a task to wrangle and interview a giant, but the joke was on us cause he managed to track down the loving and generous George the Giant and capture this great interview!

How tall is George The Giant?

7 foot 3 inches

What did you experience that led to an interest in the sideshow arts?

There are several parts to this story.
1 - when I was 12 years old I went to the Kern County Fair and saw the sword swallower & fire eater perform on the Bally Stage. I was amazed at what the human body could do, and at that time I knew that was "real magic", and not what magicians did.
2 - when I was 21 an incident happened in my life that made me have a fear of fire. I'm one of those people that if I'm scared of heights, I bungee jump. So I decided to eat fire.

You are a sideshow performer who performs a variety of sideshow stunts; one of which is fire breathing. While you once had a fear of fire, how are you able to, now, perform fire breathing stunts? Can you share what caused your fear of fire?

As I said when I was 21 an incident occurred. Someone broke into my brother's home, tied him up. lit him on fire, and left him to die. He survived, but it left him with a fear of fire. And in so doing, left me with a fear of fire.

What led to you being cast in films and an appearance on the tonight show with Jay Leno?

Being cast in film and television is the old story, it's who you know. I was doing Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios working with a great contortionist named Bonnie Morgan. She was doing the Grinch Stole Christmas during the Run. At the time she was 15 so her dad had to take her. Her father is a stunt performer and coordinator, he was in the original Pete's Dragon. Well, one of his friends called him up and said, "We need a henchman who can do something really, really strange". He gave them my name, I received the call, and three days later I was in Vegas shooting a TV show for UPN called "The Strip."
The Tonight Show, The Late Show, and some of the other TV shows I've done are the same thing. People know who I am, what I do, want something odd, and I get called.

Can you talk about the films and television shows you've been cast in and what actors you've played alongside?

Everyone knows about the movie Big Fish, where I got to perform with Danny DeVito and Ewan McGregor. The experience I had with Danny DeVito was something that I will have for the rest of my life.
I did a movie called "Firecracker" with Karen Black. She was a very odd and unusual actress that played great strange characters.
Another movie I did was called "Tough Luck" with Armand Assante, Norman Reedus ("Boondock Saints" and "The Walking Dead") and Dagmara Dominczyk from ("Count of Monte Cristo"). I Had very little interaction with the main actors except for on screen. Norman and Armand showed great respect of the stunts I did.
I have also done TV shows ranging from "America's Got Talent", "Life According to Jim", "CSI Vegas", "Nitro Circus", and "A 1000 Ways To Die".

You have a towering role in the new Hectic Films project; Machine Gun Baby with director Rickey Bird. What can you tell us about your character and your experience with the cast and crew of Hectic Films?

There is nothing I can say about Rickey Bird that is not already in the police report!
I've known Rickey for several years. We worked on a movie where he was doing the special effects of the blood blast from a shotgun where I was shot in the face. We ended up doing a scene that was supposed to take 40 minutes to shoot... it took 5 hours so we had a lot of time to chat.
Whenever he's shooting films I try to donate to the project or help him in any way I can by putting him in contact with people, this just so happened to be one time he wanted me in the actual film. The character he wanted me to do was... so disgusting... how could I say, "No"?

Can you share just a few of the stunts you perform, for the brave of heart? Where can fans go to follow and gets updates on George The Giant?

I use several of the classic Sideshow stunts. Sword swallowing, fire eating, glass walking, bed of nails, and old-time strongman stunts. I also do my own twist on weight lifting, using fish hooks and weights from my eye sockets. The thing that made Sharon Osbourne say I was the most disgusting person she knows, is a stunt called "crazy straw".

Machine Gun Baby Announcement!

There is never a dull moment when you’re riding around with Hectic Films. Production is already underway on Machine Gun Baby, and what a whirlwind it has become, from blowing up televisions to pushing the boundaries of creativity. The action, excitement, and colorful characters that make their way into the film are almost too good to be true.

It is with a gleeful squeal of fan-boy excitement that I have the pleasure to officially announce that Brinke Stevens (“Tales from the Darkside”, “Teenage Exorcist”) has joined the cast!

While I can’t yet give away too many details or peel back the veil to show you some behind the scenes pictures. I have been given the green light to introduce you to the concept art by Craig Frasier.

So World, I give you, the Machine Gun Baby!

As a parting gift, I snuck into the Hectic Films Productions vault of secrets and grabbed a picture of Rickey Bird checking out the in progress build of our favorite little diaper dragging anti-hero and thought I would share it with you all.

Well, looks like their anti-piracy procedures are up to date. Maybe in the future, I can bring you the real deal!

Don’t forget to follow the blog for updates, behind the scenes treats, as well as release details in the future!

The long awaited dvd Naked Zombie Girl is just went on sale at www.hecticfilms.com. The decision was made to sell them on Amazon, but they take an extremely long time to approve a film. Or that the DVD comes packed with 2 short films and a music video from Forget Your Friends "Scream Queen" Featuring Naked Zombie Girl. We also have 3 different package types. The first package is "Just the DVD" this includes just a DVD. Second is the "Help us Package" in this package you get your DVD  and poster signed by director Rickey Bird. And our third package is the best deal! The "Total Package" comes with a DVD signed by the director, the first issue of the NZG comic, a signed poster and a 4x6 signed by Naked Zombie Girl herself Meghan Chadeayne. You also will get some Hectic Films and Naked Zombie Girl stickers.  This is a sweet deal for anyone that loves zombies and naked chicks, lol.

So where does the money go? Well I think Walt Disney said it best,

“We Don’t Make Movies To Make Money, We Make Money To Make More Movies.”

That's our goal. 100% of the profit is going into future projects. That is what we will continue to do. So if you just want to help us out get a "Help us Package". If you really want to help us out get the "Total Package". And if you just wanna see it, then just get the dvd.

Is the movie any good you ask. Well our dear friend Scratchy Pete seems to think so. Check out his review of the film:

NAKED ZOMBIE GIRL “…Stripped naked…armed to the teeth…all 40 of them on a 20 inch bar…” “…Will leave you gagging for more…” Director Rickey Bird Jr has nailed it in 2014. With a great title, images of gore and beauty in the form of the unashamedly delicious Meghan Chadeayne, this one was destined for Grindhouse greatness or garbage. Exceeding all expectations. Thank you for the opportunity to get to review this one first. Rated “N” for Nudity and shot in glorious 2D. Screams, running and gasping for air – panic in her eyes…those gorgeous pale blue eyes…wide open, a distant bell tolls, a sea of crowd noise… A gunshot. And the scripture states “Their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets and their tongues will rot in their mouths”. Opening credits roll with film negative images that tease grainy grindhouse goodness… Start your engine – your rusted out 1971 Cadillac Fleetwood Broughman hits the highway with Barbara at the wheel – smoking coolly with her passengers Tony and Jill along for the ride. Swerving to avoid dead bodies, the radio calling it the end of the world. Tony is far from cool, Tony is anything but well. The bite mark oozing blood and puss and as the car splutters its final breath, the passengers suffer a similar fate. Sanders/Bird Construction Co next exit. The middle of nowhere and the car becomes a prison, a haven from the walking dead – grasping, groaning, rotting. Eating flesh almost animal like, the scent of a new food source… Black Doc Martins kick the car door, a yellow dress caught on the catch and Barbara is left naked, shooting and running to escape. A temporary shelter offers little privacy – reality sets in with each bullet unloaded – it’s time to get real. In the form of a bright yellow chainsaw that rips flesh…decapitations left and right, blood soaked goodness covering her smooth skin…face, breasts, arms, legs and everything in between… One mean mother…sexy as hell…meets her match with a worthy adversary and shows us just how competent she is with a tire iron… A straggler just won’t quit and when the chainsaw kicks into life, you watch and watch again a scene that would make Leatherface more than proud. Hell, I was cheering her on – she had my full admiration in more ways than one… A heroine was born right there. But everyone needs a little help from a Redneck and Barry helps her out as she approaches ladylike towards his ute…”C’mon get those butt cheeks in here”… whilst you as a viewer can’t help noticing the rest of her that needs a helping hand too. Padgett Towing – If you’re stuck, we’ll yank on ya… A kind offer in a desolate situation, but somewhat premature… A shower to wash the blood and grime away, a fresh start, yet something is not quite right. Standing in the hallway, visions of suffering between her open legs and like the final curtain falling ,it’s time to grab the chainsaw and drop the yellow towel. Naked once again, a look of intensity in her eyes as a zombie tongue wags crudely at what it sees before her… Naked Zombie Girl, I think I am in love… 30 minutes of pure entertainment. Hardly a word spoken. Acting cleverly and skilfully portrayed in true Grindhouse style, not amateur, I am talking skill. Gore that soaks the screen, effects and make up that you just want to roll around in…blood and guts… A woman with a chainsaw that stakes a new claim to the Horror Queen stakes – eyes you want to bathe in, a form that is both seductive yet formidable with curves in all the right places… A real winner in my book, leaving me with a few desperate needs…one of which is a full length feature. “…Naked Zombie Girl rocks…”   “Scratchy” Pete April 2014
